Industrial Chic? Let’s call it industrial chic.

1 part modern

1 part sustainable

1 part rustic

1 part minimalist

3 parts awesome

At the heart of industrial chic is the reclaimed wood box frame coffee table.  So please advise.

So when I came upon the perfect version on sale at Ennis, I couldn’t help but submit to its sexiness and grace my own living space with its presence.

There were only two remaining.

Just as you could never stare into a kennel and choose to give a home to one of two motherless puppies -  I had to take them both. Good thing Tayler’s living room was still crying out for the perfect centerpiece.  Two birds, one coffee table.

That was a lot of nonsensical metaphors.

…and a little bit of suite potato’s rusticmoderneclecticminimalistmaximamist home imagery.

Rustic Chic? Oooh Deer.

I’m feeling what I’m going to call ‘the Rustic Chic look’ in a big way these days. Something about juxtaposing hard and soft textures and themes in a room just hits the spot for this Suite Potato.

At the forefront of this look is the elusive antler.

Controversial? Perhaps. Bold and awesome looking? Most assuredly.

Mantle Elk antlers displayed in traditional setting. And the fire’s going so you know it’s legit. Now where’s my scotch? Eclectic Revised.

And here we have a Philippe Starckesque interpretation of  an antler chandelier. Can’t decide which is creepier: the awkwardly flat pillow(s) or the fact that Shelley Long is peering over her shoulder at me in the corner. Stylish Eve.

Antlers holding antlers holding candles. Lecuyers Lodge.

Love love the seafoam leather sofa with bleached bleek antlers. Eskimo Design.

Paper Mache antlers from West Elm Fall 2011 collection. How animal friendly!

Loving this minimalist look. Cool without being cold. St. Houzz.

Put a lil necklace here, lil rock there. Job done. Remodelista.

AND this is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE. Not only is the antler utilization absolutely spectacular, but I run into wooden crates left all over the city and I’m constantly trying to come up with interesting uses for them. Cool raw headboard with tonal accent sheets and silver fixtures? GENIUS!

And now for some Suite Potato shots. Special Man Friend has been bringing me back found – you hear that, animal friends? FOUND – antlers he’s stumbled upon in the mountains while fighting fires. Oh! The array of fabulous uses are ENDLESS!

Antler bouquet? Hold your applause. This Suite Potato is on a HOT roll!
